알탕 Recipe

Tofu, Scallion, minced garlic.  The basic necessities of any Asian cuisine.

Ready to be seasoned.

Shrimp paste.  For those of you who's new to Korean cuisine, shrimp paste is the key seasoning ingredient.  Does the job of the salt, but smells a little pungent.
Gonads.   These make me worried about the survival rate of the cods.
Bring it to boil.
More sprimp paste, if necessary.

Add more of these 'nads to the pot.

Last, but not least, add tofu to the pot.  Let it boil for another 5+minutes.

Add egg for a fuller texture.  But otherwise, this pretty much finishes one of a very unique Korean dish that many people haven't tried.  If you're grossed out by the gonads, you should think of all the exquisite eggs you've tried from salmon roe to caviar.  This might be when the word "umami" is called for.
